Is the quality of goods at the Coach Outlets the same as regular stores?
Hi I just bought my girlfriend a Coach handbag and it was a pretty good deal.
I checked the official Coach website and don’t see the handbag there.
So, at the Coach Outlets, do they run a completely different line than the mainstream regular Coach stores?
I’ve also heard that the quality of construction and materials might be lower which explains the lower price. Is that true? ie. they use cheaper materials or lower grade materials to make the Outlet goods.
The Outlet goods aren’t defects or blemished items are they?
Any apparel, fashion or luxury goods experts know the answer?
ps. Why is Coach the only brand that uses an Outlet? Do you think it cheapens the brand or makes it more accessible?
The Coach factory stores are a mix between older styles,styles that didn’t sell well in the full price stores and designs made specifically for the factory stores.They are not defective or inferior in any way,though.
There are some designer names that have outlets,and many designer items’ irregulars and past season styles can be found at merchants like Marshalls and TJ Maxx,but that doesn’t affect the brands’ reputations because the true “fashonistas” will always buy designer and not buy last years style.That is for the rest of us 
Coach is not really considered “designer” in the “fashonista” world,so I don’t think that it affects the reputation of the brand,but they are marketed as “affordable luxury”,so those who couldn’t afford things like that now can.Personally I think it is brilliant marketing because it has become the “it” brand to have and everyone recognizes it.Their cost would be next to nothing since their products are mostly made in China nowadays(another no-no in the fashion world).
That being said,they are very sturdy,well made and have a lifetime guarantee against defects.I have many and have never had to have one repaired.
