Where can I find a plain canvas messenger bag for decorating?
It needs to be large enough to carry school books. I want to decorate it with patches, markers, etc. What would be a good place to find a bag that will work? Thank you!
Wal-Mart used to sell Messenger Bag kits in the Craft area, where you could decorated it yourself…it comes with iron-on pictures and letters. I’m not sure if they still have them but you should check it out. You could add your own things to it also.

What kind of paint should I use on a canvas bag?
I want to get a semi-gloss paint that will go well on a thick canvas messenger bag. I want it to have a similar effect to military bags with insignias painted on them. What type of paint could i use for this? I also want it to be durable.
I have had really good luck with mixing textile medium with acrylic paints. I’ve done pants and sweatshirts as well as canvas bags for my daughters. It has stayed on thru many uses, washings and years of use.
You can find the textile medium with the acrylic paints at any craft stores/sections. I often get it al Walmart. Just mix according to the directions on the textile medium.
