How can a lavender oil stain be removed from a dark brown leather sofa?
Lavender oil was spilled on a dark brown leather couch and left an “orange-ish” mark on the leather. It feels waxy to the touch, but cannot be scraped off with a finger nail. We have tried diluting the oil, as well as using a leather cleaner designed for motorcycles and dish soap, but have not been successful in removing or reducing the size of the “stain.” Does anyone know what can be done to reverse – or at least minimize – this damage? We would appreciate any help we can get! Thank you!!
The problem here would appear to be that you have removed some of the colour from the leather surface (it may be a 2 tone leather where the top colour/finish has been removed) and no amount of cleaning etc will resolve the problem.
Please DO NOT use Mr clean magic erasres as on this type of leather you will do a lot more damage.
2 tone leathers are not easy to fix yourself and you will really need to contact a qualified technician who can help you to resolve the problem. DIY kits will not work and may make the matter worse

What kind of couch can i match with a brown leather couch?
I bought a dark brown leather sofa a couple months ago. Since then, I have moved into a new place and can not find the matching loveseat! What kind of couch can I match with this brown leather sofa??
First of all, what design is your leather couch? Does it have a modern feel to it, a ranch-like feel to it, or is it more a French Provincial era of furniture??? Contemporary? Art-Deco? Knowing this would help.
And you don’t really have to match it with another couch. Look underneath the couch for the manufacturer’s label. More than likely, you’ll be able to come up with some contact info. Then, you may still be able to get another couch…. if you still want one.
As I said, you don’t have to use a couch. You can use other ideas. Here are a few things you could couple it with:
